It has been a great year in fitness and health awareness. People now pay more attention to their lifestyle choices and health.  Here are 10 of the current biggest health and fitness trends that I have spotted for last year, how many are you on or heard of? 1. Keto Diet

Keto diet is high fat low carb diet that also called ketogenic, aims for dropping weights. Keto diet emphasis on eliminating carbs, when your body does not have carb to use for fuel, it will create ketones, in which your body switches to use fat to create energy. Good news for the cheese lover, with a Keto diet, you can eat as much cheese as you want, however, many people find the diet hard to stick with.


2. Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting is an eating style where you eat for a period of time and fast for the rest. Although it helps to loose way fast, intermittent fasting is more like a lifestyle choice than a diet. There are several pieces of research have proven that you can gain many benefits from intermittent fasting such as weight loss, improving longevity, improving brain function, preventing chronic diseases. There are several intermittent fasting methods, however, the most popular one is 16/8 method, which is you eat all of your calories within a short period of time around 6 to 8 hours and fast for the rest of the time 14 to 16 hours. 3. Boxing Queen

Recently boxing fitness becomes more and more popular and especially for the woman. Woman finds boxing fitness is more just getting your exercises done. Boxing fitness viewed as boxing with purpose and there is nothing to do with ego.  You learn boxing, its fun, you get a great workout, a new skill that you can use to defend yourself and get yourself discipline. No matter what types of boxing you are doing, with pads, shadows boxing, with or without sparring, you will be training numerous parts of your body. 5. FIT equal HIIT 

With the busy schedule no time for the gym, HIIT becomes more and more popular and is the choice of productive people who want to squeeze a good workout in your busy daily schedule or mommy who can’t schedule their time to go to the gym. HIIT stands for High Intensive Interval training, is a practice of combining short bursts of intensive exercise followed by short rest. It is becoming popular not only because it burns calories, sheds fat, but also is short in time.


6. No GMO in our foods

GMO stands for Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. It is basically a method that has been using vastly to produce foods nowadays. The safety of GMOs is still unknown, however, this method is massively doubted by consumers. There are 64 countries in the world mostly Europe union and Japan required GMOs to be labeled to give consumers the confirmation of their choices of foods.


7. The Yummy Avocado

Avocado has become very popular in recent year. Healthy eaters add avocado in their diet not only because its full of vitamins and minerals that contain a variety of health benefits but also its tastiness.


8. Fitness Tracker

Along with the increasing popularity of healthy lifestyle, fitness tracker becomes one of the biggest things in the fitness community. It is because fitness tracker helps to track your workout, tell you how well you did on your fitness section, it gets more fashionable with all the design and even smarter with all the apps coming along with it. No doubt it gets more and more popular.


9. The new kind of milk.

There are so many different kinds of milk in the market. The original cow milk is not the only options anymore. Recently, plant-based milk such as almond, rice, oat, or pea milk become more and more popular since they are still packed with nutrition and good taste. New milk went mainstream since Starbucks added coconut and almond milk in their menu. And did you know, soy milk can provide you the same nutrition that you could get from cow milk?


10. Vegan Diet

The last but not least when talking about 10 of the year biggest health and fitness trends is Vegan. This diet has been popular more than ever. Many people become vegan or having a vegan lifestyle because of different reasons surrounding animal cruelty, foods industry, or health concerns, however, this trend becomes more popular since many celebrities join in this trend.
